Hey there!! Yes, you, the one with the pretty hair and nice eyes! I don't think we've met before, so let me take the time to introduce myself.

I'm Madison, the writer behind the words of A Madison Classic. For as long as I can remember, I've been passionate about two things: clothes and writing. Year after year, I have spent hours Googling 'how to start a blog,' 'what do you need to start a blog,' 'what site is best to start a blog on,' and so many other questions. Even though I knew that writing a blog would be something I’d fall in love with, I continually talked myself out of it. Convinced by the mere fear of the opinions of others and potentially losing people’s respect that I thought I couldn’t live without, I stayed securely in my comfort zone, unready to test the waters of something new.

Then, college rolled around. I was no longer in a small-town where I could hear everyone's whispers and feel everyone's stares. Instead, I found myself surrounded by creative souls and people fearlessly pursuing their dreams, regardless of how realistic or attainable. These people were content in simply attempting to achieve their goals, seemingly unafraid of the word that terrifies me more than anything. Failure. Witnessing their strength, I started getting inspired, following in their footsteps and attempting to put my fear aside to begin my journey to becoming the woman I’ve always hoped to be: driven, passionate, confident, and most of all, happy.

In this period of self-discovery, I met people who encouraged me to listen to my heart, and even some who knew what my heart was trying to tell me before I did. My friends, Alyssa and Olivia, persuaded me to take this massive leap, leaving the safety and comfort of remaining silent for the vast and unknown world of blogging. Though my skepticism of genuinely interested readers remains high, I am sincerely grateful to them for somehow talking me into chasing my passion, and I am sincerely grateful to you for taking the time to hear what I have to say.

This blog, in itself, will be a continuation of my self-discovery, and I would love for you to come along for the ride. Since the notion of blogging first came to my mind in middle school, I have changed drastically, as have the concepts I want to cover in my writing. Rather than seeing my black clothes and dark maroon lipstick phase (thankfully), you will be seeing my self-proclaimed ‘mom’ style, full of blue and white stripes and conservative cuts, but as an alteration of my original idea, clothing will not be the only topic discussed. Instead, it will be a culmination of all the things I have come to love over the years: books I think you should read, places I think you should travel to, beauty products I swear by, quotes I think everyone should hear at least once, and the occasional ‘mind dump’ of the thoughts filling my head, poured out for you to sift through. As I progress through this process, I will continue searching for the things that make my heart happy, growing by the day, and my blog will do the same. After all, that is the beauty of life, the freedom of changing whenever you need to. I can promise you that I am going to take full advantage of the opportunity.

Now that you know a little bit about me, I hope you choose to keep coming back. I think we could become really good friends. You can even submit your email at the bottom of the page so you receive a notification every time there’s a new post!

Please feel free to grab a cup of coffee and stick around for a while; I promise I’m doing the same thing, hopefully with a Grande Iced Coffee with two shots of skinny mocha from Starbs, but I’m not that picky.

Thanks for taking a chance on me. Here’s to a new beginning, stepping out of my comfort zone, and finally following my heart. Just like those old, literary classics you see lining the walls of libraries, A Madison Classic is my personal must-read story, and I hope you will find that it, too, stands the test of time.

xoxo madison
