Rain Drop, Drop Top, This is my Version of a Crop Top
Hello, lovely people. After far too long away, I am finally making a comeback to my blog. At least for today, if nothing else. While I had big ambitions of continually posting during the school year, I fell off the band-wagon almost immediately after I moved in. As much as I wish I could be organized enough to balance 17-credits, sorority recruitment, pledging a business fraternity, a quality social life, and posting four times per week on this blog, I am only human, which means I have to make time for top priorities at certain times. Unfortunately, that means A Madison Classic has taken the backseat as I've been trying to discover a new routine for sophomore (!!!) year.
In this current moment, I can't make any promises about a posting schedule, but I can say I'm hoping to provide a consistent amount of content, starting today, and I'm grateful for those of you who have patiently waited to read something new. Without further ado, I bring you yet another vacation outfit. Someday you'll get something a little more fall appropriate, but right now, it's still a heat wave where I live, so this look is slightly relevant.
Since I've talked about it in a post before, many of you know that I am not a crop top gal. For that reason, this particular romper might really surprise you. To be completely honest, just trying it on was a large step out of my comfort zone, but with the encouragement of my friend, Selene, I admitted to falling in love with how it looks on. The tie detailing on the front doesn't show much skin, which I love, but it still shows some, which I also love. Plus, the tie hits at a very flattering point of my waist, making me feel much skinnier than I am. Also, the length of the short is a nice in-between, not covering up too much thigh, yet also covering up an appropriate amount of skin. Beyond all of that, the neckline, too, keeps it classy while leaving a lot open for layering necklaces.
Immediately after I purchased this piece, I knew it would be perfect for an evening spent on the waterfront during our vacation. The pinstripes scream nautical. The material is lightweight enough for warm temperatures, and the color scheme is right up my alley. In terms of accessories, I wanted to keep the look neutral and summery. Since I was rocking beach hair, I opted to cover up the lack of volume with this cute, straw fedora, and as for footwear, I selected the tan, gladiator sandals to round out the look with beachy vibes. Both of which stick to my plan of neutrality.
I just know I wouldn't feel like myself without simple gold jewelry around my neck, so I tossed on two of my favorite necklaces too, while sporting my favorite watch on my wrist. Overall, the look appeared extremely styled, but remained insanely comfortable and easy to throw on. Honestly, just looking at these photos has me wishing to head back to a beach as soon as possible.
Well folks, I hope the return of A Madison Classic didn't disappoint you. As I'm sitting here typing, I'm realizing just how much I missed writing. One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give to any college student is to make time for something that clears your mind. Classes get stressful. Attempting to be involved in a million clubs is stressful. Trying to balance social time with sleep, friends, and responsibilities is stressful. The struggle really is real, especially if you don't have a way of relaxing. So, whatever you do, find a routine that calms you down. Maybe that's watching an episode of The Office before bed. Maybe that's reading a few pages of a 'just for fun' book every day. Maybe that's lying in bed and listening to music for fifteen minutes. My resolution for the rest of the year is to relax with the one thing that I love: creating content for this blog. I hope you all start making time for your relaxing habit too.
best of luck with midterms, all you college students, and best of luck with staying stress free. it feels SO good to be back.
xoxo madison
