Oppa is (Gingham) Style

You know it's going to be a good blog post when the title includes a pun on a song title right?? Well, I sure hope that's the case because today I'm finally bringing you a weather-appropriate outfit, as well as an idea on how to style two of my favorite pieces of the season.

When I stumbled upon this top, I knew I had to have it. First of all, it's gingham print, which I can't seem to get enough of lately. Second, it is a v-neck, which I also love, and most importantly, IT HAS BELL SLEEVES. It's nearly impossible for me to contain my excitement about finding the perfect bell sleeved top. In fact, my mom loved it so much she went back and bought me a second one in blue, so stay tuned for another option in the future.

To keep the look nice a neutral, I decided to throw on my favorite pair of black skinny jeans from Gap. They're seriously so comfortable and stretchy, plus they come in longs, something I'll never complain about. I love when I get to cuff my jeans to my ankles, since they usually end up around mid-calf and look more like capris. While the top is perfect, it happens to be slightly boxy, so I opted to add a belt into the mix. This gives me the option to tuck in the front of the shirt, which makes it a little more figure-flattering in my opinion.

Though I'm all about classic black and white ensembles, I thought I needed to incorporate a little color, so of course I tossed in accessories of my favorite shade right now: pale pink. It's the ideal complementary color in my opinion because it brightens the look without overpowering anything else. In particular, I love this bag from Target. The shape is so classic, and it's big enough to fit everything anyone could ever need to carry around.

I'm not sure if you even want to get me started on the shoes either. For those of you who read my Back-to-School Wishlist (read here if you missed it), you should recognize these babies. I finally found adorable slip-on loafers at T.J.Maxx of all places, so they were at an incredible deal. SCORE. Truthfully, they're even more worth the purchase than I had originally thought. They go with everything, from dresses to skirts to jeans. Plus, they're insanely comfortable and don't cut up the back of your heels. If you're on the hunt for something similar, hit up T.J.Maxx ASAP. They had a wide variety of color selections, so everyone should find a shade they adore.

I have seriously already worn this outfit more times this year than I'd like to admit (yes, i'm an outfit repeater), but I justify it by the confidence I get from feeling so fashionable. This is the ultimate "class meets casual" look, as well as a a great summer-to-fall transitional outfit. Although, I'm excited for the sweater weather that's quickly approaching.

thanks for reading + get hyped for some cozy, fall looks coming your way soon. sending you good vibes for this week.

xoxo madison
